Member Safety

The Whistleblower & Anti-Retaliation Policy of the Connecticut Hurricanes: (1) encourages staff, members, and volunteers to come forward with credible information on Prohibited Practices or Violations of Law; (2) specifies that the Hurricanes will protect the person from retaliation; and (3) identifies where such information can be reported.”
At the Hurricanes, our hope is that anyone involved in the corps feels safe and empowered to raise complaints or concerns. Reports can be made to any staff member, administrator, or board member.  All complaints will be immediately reported to the executive director or president of the board for investigation.

We recognize the need to have a place to anonymously report issues and concerns is important.  The following form allows for confidential and anonymous reporting of any concern or complaint. Upon completion of this form, it will be sent to the chairman of the Hurricanes Board of Directors and an investigation will commence.

If you are reporting misconduct, and if you wish to remain anonymous, please try to include the following information to the best that you can:
– Name of the person(s) you wish to report
– Year the incident occurred
– Details of the incident, such as: location, surroundings, conversation, possible witnesses
– The more details you can provide, the better we can look into your report.

If you do provide your contact information you can expect:
– Contact from an official representative of the Hurricanes. We will have an initial meeting with you, where we inform you of what you can expect. We are committed to exploring your level of comfort.
– We will maintain confidentiality and anonymity to the extent possible. CT Hurricanes follows all local laws and regulations. In the case where an incident must be reported to local law enforcement, we cannot guarantee confidentiality and anonymity.
